uhhh

lol

you were very brave putting this on the portal (with the vocals and everything)

this is definately way better than memory of jen, however your voice definately got fucked up when you put it in fruity lol.

ive experimented with vocals but its hard to make it work right.

as far as the lyrics i couldnt understand them, but i wouldnt show this to anyone else for fear of embarrassment, many people wont be as nice as me about it

Unfairy responds:

Yeah, I'm trying to get a friend who is in my school's chorus to sing it for me, my own voice isn't too wonderful. I noticed that FL3 does that, I think instead, I am going to get a WAV-MP3 converter for anymore vocals... As far as the lyrics are concerned, I have them posted on fp.com (http://www.fictionpress.com/~Soulshifter).

well...

the string was ok but the rest of the song was off-beat and the sounds didnt really clash in a pleasurable way

ill see your other songs, hopefully they are better.

hmm

kinda weird, its definately different, pausing the drums all the time, did you do that on purpose...
it gives a weird feeling to the song, really makes it kinda annoying.

it had some ok piano work(or string, i cant tell cuz of the drums)

idk you might have been able to make this better, but the drums were loud, and they paused too much, normally drums dont matter, but they were overpowering the few other sounds you had.

good effort though

learning

I know it can be hard to learn how to use fruityloops, but you are doing pretty good so far, seems like you know how to use the playlist and the step sequencer, now try your hand at making sounds! all you have to do is right click and click insert channel, then pick one, and turn the knobs till you get a sound you like, then right click and click piano roll, then make a melody with it, add those drums and boom, you got a song!

good luck!

yeah yeah ill work on a good 1 then i post it

good job

i LOVE the padding at the beginning AWESOME.

the piano kinda messed things up tho.....
didnt fit the darkness of everythign else.
maybe if it was more high pitched like a child's song(like a lullaby) then it would sound totally evil

once the guitar kicked in the song changed totally, and it wasnt a bad change, it was pretty cool, but i love your padding and the FX\pad in the background(so you could hardly hear it but it was really low)

the static-ish noise was really cool, really fit, and i like the echoing on the hat thingie.

the only thing i didnt like was the piano

Questionauthority responds:

first of all thanks for this long and detailed review!
it's funny I thought the piano would give the song a different feeling but make it even darker!
i'mm maybe try to pitch it up to see what it'll sound like!
so thanks again!

cool

i like that really far away sounding FX at the beginning, and how it fades in.

This sounds REALLY fukin trippy, you could really take this sumwhere, however its more like an intro, it would be really badass if it was a full song (judging by the intro, it would be really different and id prolly like)

Questionauthority responds:

thanks! i think this tune is funny cause i played it with the "letter" keys on my keyboard using the midi synth of my soundblaster! :) I recorded the drums with the audio recorder playing the line as long as i thought the song would be. the I recorded line after line with the audiorecorder to get it into a song-that was back in the days when I had no possibility to get fruity loops :) mybe I'll try to rebuild it with fruityloops to bring it to another level

nice

I like the main guitar in that one, even tho it sounds kinda far away.

and it seems to be all in the right speaker, with like no surround.

its pretty good tho!
i like how it goes, sounds really good.

kool

I liked the bass at the beginning, that was nicee
and i like slowly introducing sounds like u did.

however like the other guy stated, the synths could have more definition, there could be better synths.

what works great for an evil effect, or jus a hard effect is sim synth (i think)

you did pretty good tho, ONCE THE PADS KICKED IN IT WAS 10X better.

keep working with that.

you should tke the melody and everything, and replace all the synths with new sounds lol
then call it a remix, add sum new shit, and submit it.

My aim is SiSiMeN313
and my msn is demonslayer326@hotmail.com

if you want to collab, drop me a message.

WizardSleeve responds:

Yeah I have actually been planning on replacing the synths.. I do like the saw synth as it is.. mb a bit more delay.. but the main one comes in a made by layers 4 differant 3xosc channels and fucking around with them till i got the sound i sorta wanted. I should replace that with a better synth i make on something else. Theres just more satisfaction making a noise in the 3xosc than anything else tho.

I've addad ya biznitch, prepare to be harassed ;oP j/k

DNBBbbbb b b b b b bbbbbb

I liked the beginning, however the new synth was kinda annoying, but the BG effect behind it helped.
then when the new synth came in it sounded better, however the song could do without that loud synth.

you seem to use that powerful sound in most of ur tracks, what is it? what do u use? fruityloops?

some of the things sound like fruity loops, and others could be but would be hard.

pretty good

WizardSleeve responds:

Yeah things that sound typicl FL are because they have not been processed properly. I do use a few synths, but i tend to create my own stuff on them too. the only 2 i really ever use are z3ta and Absynth, but i try to generate all sounds first. Its a good way to learn how to make differant sounds tho looking at how they do it on synths, copying it into the 3xosc and adding the FX accordingly, then fucking round with it and seeing what you come up with.

Which powerful sound? They are all quite powerfull.

good job

Pretty good panning and filtering going on in there, it has a really nice effect with it.

im glad you changed it when you did, cuz it was getting repetitive.

and it was pretty cool when you made the new noise, it is VERY POWERFUL, and i like the drums however they DO sound like a premade loop lol.

really nice noise, thats one of the most powerful ones ive heard in a while, too bad it kinda overpowered ur drums.

the last part i didnt care for, i think you shouldhave cut it out, kinda sounded like you were desperate to keep it going and couldnt come up with more stuff.

when the synth came in around 2:50 it sounded a bit better.

but still...
good job tho

WizardSleeve responds:

Yeah this tune is more of a statement than anything. I CAN DO IT TOO.

The drums are not a loop, i swear, Look up on the internet about drum and bass/jungle and how it utalises the AMEN break

The amen break is from the amen brother tune. Its basically some Jazz drumming. You cut the samples you want out of it.. process them, and use them as they sound alot better than basic drum samples. If you all want to go on thinking i use a loop you can, but i do not use loops.

As for the noise overpowering the drums, it doesn't on my system, are you using just normal PC speakers or something? MB i can upload a modified version for people who just have lil pc speakers. I forget not everyone has there computer to be hooked up as a bad ass sound system lol.

Thank you for your comments, mb i will talk with you and work on a pc speaker friendly version, send that to you till the levels are right.

Also if you would like a copy of the amen break i can send that to you so you can see that i didn't just use some loop.

Trance is not just a genre..... Its an emotion
