hardcore

Very freaking well done dude, if you made it from start to finish, you are a brilliant techno producer! This has inspired me to attempt something along these lines, but I have a hard time keeping the beat heavy like that, I always make it too chilled out.

LOVE the beat, the whole time, it wasnt too repetitive, and all of the synths fit the genre, and kept the style. So great job on making such a long track stay interesting!

props - 5/5

ofcorce i made it from start to finish ;) any pre made stuff would be welcomed just as much as a doctor calling me on my Bday saying "You have Aids". exept a few premade sounds tho, ill have to do that exeption since, how the hell am i gonna make my own drum sounds =P I only have a synth in hardware. rest is computer composed.

glad you liked it :D and im glad you dont think its too repretitive =) there seems to be diffrent opinions about that. i guess its one of those songs that fits a party more than it fits beeing a song to chill and listen too. but still, yeah ^^ thanks again!

Gorgeous

I didnt like it too much at first (and im a huge fan of pianos in music) but it started sounding really nice.

Im not sure if you compressed it for NG or what, but the voice could be clearer and with more definition to it - I actually was writing how it would rock if someone harmonized with it, then you did so yea, good call :-P

But other than that, its rather good.
Nice lyrics too, I really liked them.

p.s lose the delay on the voice in the second verse

Naitzmic responds:

Glad you changed your mind after listening to it a bit then. =D

I can appreciate the input and the advice, but you should
know that Alex (the singer) and myself are performers - not producers.
We just hit "record" and do our thing basically.
Sometimes it comes out good, other times not so much...
It all depends on personal preference, I guess.

Anyways, thanks alot for the review.
Appreciate it.

cool stuff

Great guitaring and decent lyrics, but the vocals couldhave been more harmonic with the melodys and the other vocals in the beginning parts (the harmonizing parts obviously)

oh and I love the outro

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Haha, Glad you liked it overall and thanks a lot for the review!\m/

advice to make this track great

The fourth sound that came in (synth im sure)
kick it the hell out of the song all together.

Drop that shitty hat.

After you do those two things you have a good intro, play the intro like you do here, but with those changes, maybe put in a better hat, but make a drum roll or something that leads up to a climax with a nice solid lead. THEN change the kick into a hard hitting one, and maybe raise the bass on the bass as soon as it climaxes.

then you have a really good solid buildup.

TMM43 responds:

Thanks for reviewing Pandora-Tranquil.
This song was more of me fooling around with a new plug-in I got. The leads and synths are all preset sounds. I'm sorry if they sound so crappy.
I really appreciate your review! I'll take what you've said into consideration when I re-make this song.

one word and some advice

This could actually be pretty sweet with a catchy lead and some filtering.

its not DNB of course, this is hardcore dance (not bad) but one word:
compressor.

put a compressor on master and add some melodies.

or scrap it, your choice lol

TMM43 responds:

Well, I am redoing this song because it's sparked so much controversy! I thought I did an OK job when I first made this, but now I hate the way most of it sounds. I'm fixing it. I'll be adding a melody, getting rid of that hit every 5 seconds or whatever, lowing the volume, yada yada yada. It's going to be better. Promise.

Thanks for the review!

Woo

Gives a very "movie-like" approach, with some more reverb on the synths itd be trailer-worthy.

Some melody breaks, its kinda....idk I can like feel what I want the melody to do and it doesnt, some notes I feel should be longer, but it IS very good, lovely melodies, and good progression!

I didnt get bored one time during this, I love the higher synth that plays through most of the song, if you CAN make the notes longer, I'd suggest at least doing it during the breakdown of the song, because instead of short taps, take some control of the song with some longer notes.

Anyways, love the bass also, it really goes very well with everything, perfectly on key, just get some more reverb so u can have some more atmosphere goin on.

I got really bored and checked out my ng account and remembered you were like my fav NG person lol
you really helped me develop musically (when I was still a noob) right now I cant make music tho cuz I dont have a updated fruity loops account (and it is expencive to buy!) so yea, no registry entrys.. :-(

*cough* well sorry for the extremely long review, just wanted to let you know I appreciate all you've done, and let you know how I feel about your latest!
good job!

I voted 5

:-)

AdmiralConquistador responds:

Really? I thought the song was a little too "wet" with reverb and delay, and I took some off before mastering... It feels right to me. I wonder what you would do differently with some of those longer notes that you mention, it really intrigues me and I love this type of feedback; of course you would have done something differently, you're not me! I remember what you're talking about too, back when you were still new to this, and I would give you rather harsh reviews, but always constructive, in the hopes that I wouldn't... umm... I don't wanna say crush your spirits, but more of a "man, I'll show him I'm better!" kind of spirit boost. I know it worked; your music rocks! Anyway, thanks for reviewing my works, and for being a peer, and for developing right before my very eyes... It feels good to know that you directly impacted someone. :)

original to say the least

weird break, I was like, so wheres the trance at? hidden behind all that other stuff?

Its definately origional, interesting choice of synths, I like how it turned from a pipeish sounding synth to the harder lead. Pretty cool, decent bass, I dont like the kick though, too weak. And the clap doesnt fit as well as the other drums do.

The beginning was kinda repetitive, but the rest of the song was pretty good with the production.

however I dont like the outro, it just makes it get repetitive, just end it with a bang and a bunch of FX or summat.

The-XI responds:

Yeah, the clap didn't work out too great. I didn't wanna look through thousands of samples to find a better one, so I jsut chose one and stuck with it.

Its 'repetitive' because its dance than trance, actually... its ment to be mixed, I guess. Thats why I didn't have a decorative outro.

As for the kci being too quiet, if it was louder, it would distort.

good melodys, not so good synths

hmm...I think you could do well to re-arrange most of the synths, especially that lead, the melodys are great and flow together nice, the pad doesnt need much changing, it just sounds kinda muffled. The lead i think should be more airy, or substenant, its too rough feeling. (if you get what im saying)
the vocals sound great, but you cant really understand it through the vox, id suggest making that more smoothe as well, and if you sung the vocals, good job because it goes nice with the song.

drums are very good, a nice dnb break with a dance setting, its not new, but its not old either.

this is definately a powerful song, prolly has a shitload of patterns lol

well there ya go,
peace love and trance -

Khuskan responds:

One pattern, all other drum beats were handled in sequencer. The actual version of this track is well over 5 minutes long, but due to filesize limits, I had to cut some sections out. Noteably, it leads to a problem early on, where the strings kick in. They only run for 4 bars which is out of step with the 8 bars that everything else plays for.

I'm going to be getting a real vocalist to run through so I get proper, actually sung instead of vocoded, so expect a re-release in future ;-)

me likey

good song bro, good melody production, I like how it repeats then goes into a different melody with the same synth, changing the bass with it.

pretty cool, good melody, nice an long.

MattBlair responds:

Thanks a bunch Pandora, glad to see you on here.
